WHAT IS A SHRINKY DINK?

Each piece begins as a thin 8x10 inch sheet. Once the illustration is complete, it is baked in the oven. As it is heated, the sheet shrinks down to roughly 3.25x4 inches. During the process, the proportions remain the same. The result is a hard, thick piece of plastic with vivid colors and a velvety texture. No two pieces are exactly alike.

Ready to tackle the holiday weekend.
In high school PE, we spent an entire quarter on a unit called resort sports that involved being graded on things like the rules of badminton. While entirely ridiculous, it’s probably a better life skill than dodgeball.
Before I settled on the idea of musicians for my Icons piece, I drew lots of other icons, including Mr. Rogers here.
I love the tradition of a grass court. Happy day one of @wimbledon to all the tennis fans out there.
I’ve spent the last two days shopping for vintage stamps. I’ve always loved the idea of adding artwork to an envelope but could do without the mental math of postage prices. I have a whole new appreciation of forever stamps.
